At the end of the Annihilation: Prologue the power behind the Annihilation Wave was revealed as Annihilus of the Negative Zone. In this miniseries, the armies of Annihilus sweep through the universe killing billions in the attempt to collect the former heralds of Galactus for Annihilus’ master plan. Ravenous, one of Annihilus’ generals, points out that there is little difference between their methods and the actions of Galactus’ heralds whose choices also resulted in the deaths of billions. It is an argument that the Surfer cannot easily dismiss. This title is one of four, four-issue cosmically-themed miniseries starring some of Marvel’s space-faring characters. The Silver Surfer, is the best known character with the other series featuring Super-Skrull, Nova and Ronan. And after those series are complete, the Annihilation saga will conclude in its own six-issue miniseries. — George Haberberger
