The Legends of NASCAR premiered in 1990 and featured biographies on famous race car drivers. In the first issue, Bill Elliott is the featured driver. This issue tells of how Elliott began his career with a car that his father, George Elliott, bought him. He and some friends fixed the car and began to win races with it. Elliott then went on to win many races until he really hit the big time by gaining a sponsor. Harry Melling bought Elliott a new, more powerful car, and financed all of the races. This freed Elliot to concentrate on driving. The result was a record number of NASCAR wins, which got Elliot inducted into the NASCAR Hall Of Fame.
