A propensity towards lighter, more reader-friendly comics that was initiated by the tie-in to the animated TV show, Batman Adventures, and then expanded to include Superman, and the entire DC Universe, (Superman Adventures and Adventures in the DC Universe), jumps to the Marvel universe with this title.
Marvel already had been publishing companions to their popular Saturday morning animated shows, The Adventures of Spider-Man and X-Men Adventures. This title, featuring a rotating cast of Marvel stalwarts, continues that trend. The stories that appear in this book and the rest of the line share a clean, uncomplicated art style, but the these stories in this series relate to the elaborate continuity that pervades the Marvel universe, yet still contain all the basic, appealing elements that made classic characters the icons that they are.
