Marvel Comics’ childrens comic line, Star Comics, published these spoof stories which made fun of one of the biggest heroes in the Marvel Universe. Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham, is a fun-filled series based on the popular character Spider-Man. The comic adapted most of the supporting characters from the regular series using various animals, for instance, J. Jonah Jameson is J. Jonah Jackal in the spoof; Doctor Doom is Duck Doom. As a side-note, the letterer on the series was Rick Parker. Ironically, Parker went on to do more humor books for Marvel, including Beavis and Butthead. This lighthearted series began its run in 1985.
