Olive spends a lonely Christmas holiday at school while all the other students have gone home, eating her meals with Professor MacPherson. One evening MacPerson has to cancel their dinner plans as she'd forgotten she had a prior arrangement for the evening and a dejected Olive discovers that she has a new, and rude, roommate despite her and Maps having planned for Maps to become Olive's roommate following the break.
